01Text is checked before it is sent
Display names, bios, direct messages and room chat are screened against keyword and pattern rules before they are sent; high-risk matches are blocked or flagged. A public profile field you change goes through the same step.
Images and voice notes are currently handled on report rather than screened before publication. That capability is being built; until it ships, reporting and blocking are the backstop — and blocking takes effect immediately, without waiting for us to finish reviewing a report.
Rooms disclose the house rules and the content level on the way in, so you know before you speak.
02The enforcement ladder
Action is proportionate to what happened and to what happened before. In ascending order:
| Limited delivery | The content stays but reaches fewer people. |
|---|---|
| Removal | The content comes down. |
| Mute | The account cannot post for a stated period. |
| Removal from a room | Applied by moderation, or by the host and admins within their own room. |
| Creator restriction | Hosting or broadcasting is withdrawn while the account keeps its other functions. |
| Termination | For severe or repeated violations. |
Every decision states the policy category, the action, how long any restriction lasts, and the appeal deadline. No silent penalties.
03Reporting, and what it costs you
Nothing to write from memory
Report from the safety menu on a card, room, chat or profile. The content and its timestamp attach themselves to the case.
Protect yourself in the same step
While filing you can block the person, mute the content or leave the room — you do not have to wait for the outcome to get away from it.
You stay anonymous
The reported account never learns who reported it.
You can follow the case
Safety centre lists your reports as accepted, reviewing, actioned or closed, with the last update time.
Report categories are fixed rather than free-text so cases route to the right reviewer: sexual content, gambling, fraud, hate, harassment, impersonation, risk to minors, and other illegal content.
04Appeals
Each eligible decision can be appealed once, from inside the app, before the stated deadline. The appeal is read by a person, and the outcome comes back as a safety notice rather than disappearing into a queue. Rejected creator applications are appealable on the same basis.
05Controls that are yours, not ours
- Who can reach you
- Messages and invites are separate settings, each set to everyone, people you follow, mutual follows, or nobody.
- Blocking
- Immediate and one-sided. Manage the list under Safety centre; unblocking restores interaction.
- Content level
- Choose a stricter filter than your region requires at any time. You cannot go looser than a mandatory regional level.
- Discover
- "Not interested" reduces how often similar cards appear; interests and languages are editable whenever you like.
- Spending
- Per-purchase and per-cycle caps. Lowering takes effect at once; raising needs a second confirmation and a cool-down.
Minors
Wesala is 18+. The age answer is taken before the account exists, an under-18 answer is refused on that device rather than merely on that attempt, and accounts later found to belong to a minor are removed.
Anything involving a minor — sexualised content, grooming, or content harmful to their wellbeing — is our highest-priority category and may be referred to the authorities. Report it in the app, or write to sorenperalta262@icloud.com.
06If it is urgent
Wesala is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate physical danger, contact your local emergency number first, then report in the app so we have the record.
